Patricia "Pat", A. Gibes (nee Jeske) passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018. She was 81 years old. Pat was born on January 2, 1937 in Milwaukee to Ralph and Mary (nee Dosta) Jeske.
Pat was a lifelong teacher of nature, religion, success, kindness and love. She had a love of community, especially Port Washington. Pat was an accomplished writer, mom, grandma, great-grandmother, educator and volunteer. She had a monarch garden and found peace feeding the birds and watching wildlife. Her post women left a daily treat for the dog, which Pat looked forward to. Sundays were spent watching the Packers win or lose. Pat enjoyed spending time overlooking the Port Washington lakefront and taking drives around Ozaukee County. She stayed active by attending the Symphony with her girlfriends, participating in Tai chi, volunteering for Meals on Wheels, Riveredge Nature Center and attending church and various church functions.
Pat is survived by her children Paul R. Gibes, Mark A. Gibes, Kathy (Greg) A. Gomez, grandchildren Ashley Gibes, Alysia Gibes, great-grandchildren Joey Gibes, Kailer Gibes, Amelia Andrews, brother Greg (Jeanie) Jeske, sister-in-law Helga Jeske, former daughter-in-law Cherie Ewig and canine companion Jake. Pat is preceded in death by her husband Robert H. Gibes, grandson Christopher Gibes, sister Betty (Chuck) Halaska and Brother Butch Jeske.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at St. John XXIII Catholic Parish – St. Peter of Alcantara Church (1802 North Wisconsin Street Port Washington, WI 53074) at 12:00 NOON. Father Patrick Wendt will preside. Pat's family will receive visitors from 10:00 AM until the time of mass at noon. Pat will be laid to rest with her husband Robert and grandson Christopher at St. Mary's Cemetery at 2:30 PM on May 12, 2018.
