Obituary

Patricia Croatt of Belgium died at her home on April 14 2015 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 30 1933 in rural Belgium daughter of the late John and Martha Gasper Klas. Pat went to St. Rose of Lima grade school and graduated from St. Mary's Academy in Milwaukee WI. On September 3 1955 she married the late Dale Croatt. Together they had two sons the late Bruce (Selina) and Wayne (Lisa). Patricia was very involved in her Parish St. Mary Lake Church serving as a reader Religious Education teacher and Vacation Bible School Coordinator as well as parish hostess. She was well-known for her ability to put a party together. Patricia was active in the American Legion the Luxemburg Society and other civic organizations. The greatest achievements of her life started with her advocacy for the migrant workers that came to Belgium to work at the canning factory. Her interest in marginalized people led her to found and eventually own a mental health alcohol and drug clinic in Milwaukee called Renew Counseling Services. That clinic serves thousands of patients. It is a tribute to her belief that every person has dignity and deserves respect. Patricia is survived by her son Wayne (Lisa) daughter-in-law Selina grandchildren Devin Sheena Anthony Natasha Mark Terion Antwon Rokesia Patricia and Patrick fifteen great grandchildren siblings William (Laurene) Sister Joannes SSSF of Guatemala Lois Lawton of Mauston Roseanne Watry (Thomas) of Cecil Ivan (Louise) of Fredonia Laura (Walter) of Little Kohler Pete (Susie) of Belgium Verna (Robert) Leider of Random Lake and sisters-in-law Jeanette (Robert) of Fredonia Jean (John) of Grafton and Betty Ann (Gene) Hasley of Lake Geneva. Preceding her in death are her parents husband Dale son Bruce her brothers Robert and John and brother-in-law William Lawton. A memorial celebration will take place on Saturday April 25 2015 at Divine Savior Parish St. Mary Chapel in Lake Church (6092 Lake Church Rd. Belgium) with visitation starting at 9:30 A.M. and Mass beginning at 11:00 A.M. followed by internment in St. Mary's Cemetery Columbarium. The family is being assisted by the Eernisse Funeral Home Belgium.
