Obituary

Olive Laux, 87 of Random Lake passed away on January 27, 2017 at Gables on the Pond where she was a resident the past four years. She was born on January 29, 1929 in Milwaukee. She is the daughter of Edward and Mildred (Dobraska) Cudnohoske. Olive graduated from Girls Tech in Milwaukee. On May 14, 1949 she was united in marriage with Harold Laux. Together they farmed on the homestead farm in the Town of Scott. He preceded her in death on October 4, 2013. Olive had a servant's heart always helping her children and grandchildren. She was blessed with many artistic gifts by sewing, knitting, cake decorating, oil painting, floral arranging and making all the latest trends in crafts. She shared her talents for many years as a project leader for the Scott Scooters 4-H Club. Olive and Harold enjoyed traveling and eventually settled in Texas as their winter home at the Alamo Country Club where they opened their home to many friends. They were very involved with their church, First Assembly of God in McAllen, TX. Olive is survived by her children, Harolyn Soper of Plymouth, Larry (Barb) Laux of Batavia, Ann (Greg) Zukowski of Cottage Grove and Lori (Gary) Dahm of Belgium. She is further survived by eleven grandchildren, Jennifer Laux Skibba, Brad (Sara) Laux, Ryan (Lindsey) Laux, Kristina (Mark) Pfannkuche, Jessica (friend Ben Kujawa) Laux, Max (Jill) Zukowski, Kinga (Luke) Pechacek, Hawkin (Meghan) Zukowski, Melanie (Ian) Marquardt, Megan (Obie) Weiss and Scott (Sierra) Dahm. She is also survived by twenty great grandchildren, one brother Calvin (Mary) Cudnohoske, two sisters-in-law Jeanette Cudnohoske and Mildred Behnke, and brother-in-law Russell Breit. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law Ken Soper, brothers Kenneth and Wallace Cudnohoske and sisters Marion Snyder and Judy Breit. A private family celebration of life will be held. Burial will be at Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Batavia, WI. The family would like to thank the staff of Gables on the Pond for their compassion and care the past four years.
