Obituary

Neil A. Thill, age 81, entered into Eternal Life on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. He was born on June 23, 1944, in Port Washington, Wisconsin to parents Clarence and Rose (nee Remich) Thill.

Neil graduated from Port Washington High School, served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and attended MATC becoming a journeyman mechanic. Neil was united in marriage with Judith Augustin on March 22, 1969. Together they raised three children. Above all, Neil cherished time with his family, who were the heart of his world.

He was a man of many skills. He worked in home building, lawn & garden assembly, as a maintenance mechanic, truck driver, and at the contractor desk at Home Depot.

His friends and family will remember the countless stories he loved to tell, often about his hunting or fishing trips. Or when he and Judy traveled and how much they loved being out in nature. Neil loved to work in the garden and sometimes grew the fruits for the homemade wine he made for years.

In his retirement he loved spending time in his workshop on woodworking projects, making planes, trains, automobiles, toys, and bird houses to name a few. In the winter months he and Judy spent their time in Arizona hiking and visiting with friends.

Neil is survived by his loving wife Judy, his children Tammy Thill, Timothy (Tracy) Thill and Tracy Neitzer as well has his grandchildren Allison (Justin) Hermann, Peyton Thill, Ally Thill, Jared Neitzer and Azril (Hailey) Neitzer and great grandchildren Finn and Mason.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Rose Thill and his sister Diane Miller.

A memorial service for Neil will be held at 3PM on March 20, 2026, at Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington (1600 W. Grand Ave. Port Washington, WI 53074). The family will greet guests from 1PM until the time of the service at 3PM. Following the service, there will be military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are greatly appreciated.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff at Milan Estates and Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for their care and compassion.
