IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Neil H.
Shaver
October 24, 1942 – October 8, 2025
It is with profound sadness and love that we announce the passing of Neil Shaver, the kindest, sweetest man. Neil left this world peacefully on October 8, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on October 24, 1942, formerly from Port Washington, Neil was the beloved son of Donald H. and Eleanor (Mueller) Shaver, who both preceded him in death. He touched the hearts of all who knew him throughout his long and meaningful life. His compassion was boundless, and his gentle laugh could light up any room. He had a way of making everyone feel special, whether with a kind word, a helping hand, or a selfless gesture. Neil was a steady foundation; to his friends, he was loyal and true. He carried himself with humility, always putting others before himself.
Neil graduated from Layton School of Art and was drafted into the Army. He then found immense joy and fulfillment in his remarkable 40-year career at Milwaukee Tool, where he served as a talented graphic artist in the advertising department. He cherished his years with the company, pouring his creativity and dedication into every project and task. Neil took great pride in his work and forged lasting friendships with his colleagues.
Neil's interests brought him unique happiness—he was a true movie buff who delighted in movie trivia and could always be counted on for a fun fact or a great film suggestion. He loved working on puzzles and spending quiet hours solving them. He truly loved life's most simple pleasures.
He found joy in simple moments with the Bergers, Friday Fish Fry's, holiday gatherings, birthdays and the smile of loved ones. He taught us all the value of patience, understanding, and unconditional love. His legacy will live on in the countless lives he enriched, the memories he helped create, and the values he instilled in all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Neil is survived by his two siblings: Dean (Jean) of Port Washington and Sheldon (Kathie) of Newburg; his cherished nieces and nephews, Kevin, Dale (Susan), Janet (Dave), Karen (Dan), Marshall (Bridget), Carmen. He is also survived by dear friends who loved him like family: Pat and Renee Berger, and their children Ryan (Shawn) and Dayna (Nick), as well as their grandchildren, Emilia, Adilynn, Harrison, and Ruthie. Each of them held a special place in Neil's heart and brought him immeasurable joy.
A funeral gathering to honor and celebrate Neil's incredible life will be held at Eernisse Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1600 W Grand Ave, Port Washington, WI 53074, on October 16, 2025 from 12p.m. to 2p.m., followed by a graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all who wish to pay tribute perform an act of kindness—just as Neil did every day.
Rest gently now, Neil. Your warmth and love remain forever in our hearts.
