Mrs. Naomi E. Kultgen of Port Washington passed away at Linden Grove Nursing Home in New Berlin on Monday morning May 11 2015. She was 84 years old. Naomi was born April 12 1931 in Port Washington the daughter of Bernard and Myra (nee Heiser) Barber. On February 14 1953 she was united in marriage with Raymond Kultgen in Port Washington. The couple settled in Port Washington and raised their family. Raymond preceded her in death in 2007. Mrs. Kultgen worked in her later years at St. Alphonsus Hospital in the accounting department and for the Port Washington-Saukville school district as a cashier. She had been a member of the Wisconsin Association for Home and Community Education and the Girl Scouts of Manitou Council. Naomi was active in the Girl Scouts for 25 years serving on its executive council for 24 years and heading the Girl Scout Art show. She was a day camp site director for three years and worked at the day camp for 14 years as well as serving as council wide trainer. She served as Arts and Crafts consultant for the council had been a chairman of the Juliette Low Day and directed the preparation of the bicentennial quilt. She received the Thanks Badge the highest award for adults in Girl Scouting at the Manitou Girl Scouting Council. Naomi attended the Music Conservatory and Layton Art School where her passion for art and music grew. She was a talented painter who had award winning watercolors and also sang soprano and played piano. She was a historian by nature and recorded many writings about the history of her family the city of Port Washington and World War II. She also enjoyed gardening sewing crafting and being outdoors. Naomi is survived by two daughters: Sue Ann (Terry) Kultgen Kraus of Madison and Debra (Robert) Kultgen Beyer of Greenfield and two grandchildren: Kyle Kultgen Beyer (Boen Jiang) of Toronto Canada and Aaron (Jennifer Haffner) Kultgen Kraus of Chicago. She is further survived by her great-grandson Max William Kraus brother-in-law Norbert (Betty) Kultgen of Saukville sister-in-law Marlene Barber of Saukville nieces nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents her husband Raymond and her brother William Barber. Private services will be held by invitation only Saturday. Naomi will be laid to rest with her husband in St. Mary's Cemetery Port Washington at a later date. The family suggests memorials to the local Girl Scouts in Naomi's name. The Eernisse Funeral Home Cedarburg assisted the family with arrangements.
