Obituary

Nancy Campion, of Cedarburg, passed peacefully into enteral rest on the morning of March 24, 2026. Nancy was born on November 10, 1935, the second daughter of William and Madaline (Tootie) Bennyhoff. She was raised in Rochester, MN and attended Lourdes High School where she, as a freshman, caught a glimpse of the football team captain, a senior named Fabian Campion, who would later become the love of her life. Nancy and Fabian were united in marriage at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Rochester on May 11, 1957, and took up residence in Milwaukee, moving to Grafton in 1958 and Cedarburg in 1962. They were blessed with three much-loved children and created a wonderful life in the home they designed and built in Cedarburg, where she resided until very recently.

Nancy was an immensely creative person who could sew/craft/knit/make something out of just about anything. She was member of St. Francis Borgia Church since 1962 and had been active in a number of ministries through the years.

She is survived by her children: Cathleen (David Jr.) Batzner of Pewaukee, Constance (John) Ross of Saukville, and Micheal Campion of Cedarburg. She is further survived by her treasured grandchildren: David (Jennifer) Batzner, III of Hartland, Sarah (Jordan) Joseph of Delafield, Ryan (Allyssa) Ross of Milwaukee, and Maureen of Saukville. The last part of her life was made brighter by her great-grandchildren, whom she adored: Elijah and Noah Batzner and Maxwell and Eloise Joseph. She had been prayerfully awaiting the soon-to-be arrival of her newest great-grandchild, Ryan and Alyssa’s son.

Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Fabian, her parents, her sister, Lois Just, and other cherished family members

A private Mass of Christian burial for the family will take place at St. Francis Borigia Church.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to one of the following or to the charity of your choice:

The time has come for my departure. 7 I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith. 8 Now waiting for me is the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day (2 Timothy 4:6-8)
