Obituary

MILTON E. KOCH Milton E. Koch passed away peacefully at Ellen's Home in Port Washington on April 2 2013 at the age of 87. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Betty Heimick) for nearly fifty years until her death in 1999. They resided in Fox Point.. In 2001 Milton married Sue Shorney Cleary and they settled in Grafton. Milton was born on August 23 1925 in Milwaukee. He was a graduate of Rufus King High School and attended Marquette University until he couldn't resist the call to duty during World War II. He served in the U.S. Navy as a radio operator on a destroyer in the Pacific. After the war he completed his degree in mechanical and electrical engineering at UW Madison. Throughout a long career he served numerous corporations in the Milwaukee area as a consultant and he built his own company A-a Engineering. He was the Operations Manager of MATC-North Campus in Mequon for several years and he continued as a consultant for the attorneys of the AFL-CIO office in Oak Creek until complications of Alzheimer's overtook him in 2006. Milton is survived by his wife Sue of Grafton; children Karen Koch (Don McCarty) of Gainesville Florida; Kristine (LeRoy) Ciombor of Greenfield; Kay Ellen (David Flick of Green Bay; and Jeffrey (Linda) of Waialua Hawai'i. His step children are Michael Cleary (Amy) Madison and Beth Cleary Santa Barbara California. He is further survived by five grandchildren: Jennifer (Jeremy) Fass Green Bay; Shawna Madison Danielle and Natalie Koch of Hawai'i and one great grandson Cayden Fass Green Bay. Milton was also preceded in death by his parents Milton E Senior and Norma (nee Schoon). Milt as he preferred to be called was a warm and witty man with a delightful sense of humor. He loved music playing violin in the old Milwaukee Civic Orchestra for a number of years and supporting numerous Milwaukee musical organizations. He also loved to travel especially to visit his children of whom he was enormously proud. A celebration of Milt's life will be held at Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Grafton on April 17 2013 at 6 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 4 p.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts to the Southeast Alzheimer's Association or Pilgrim Church are appreciated. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the staff of Ellen's Home for their extraordinary loving care of Milton. They also thank members of Horizon Hospice and Heartland Home Care for their skilled support of Milton and the family.
