Obituary

Mildred "Millie" (nee Bichler) Prom of Port Washington was welcomed home by her Heavenly Father on Friday, June 9, 2023, at Harbor Campus.

Millie was born in Dacada, Wisconsin on January 28, 1928, the daughter of Charles and Veronica (nee Mayer) Bichler. She grew up in Holy Cross and attended Port Washington High School where she was a drum majorette.

On September 3, 1949, she married the love of her life, Wilbert "Bill" Prom at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Belgium, WI. They lived and raised their family in Port Washington.

She was a homemaker and also worked as a salesclerk at Leider Drug for 18 years.

Millie was a member of St. John XXIII Parish (St. Mary's Church), where she participated as a Eucharist Minister, and was a part of the Christian Mothers Society.

She was a member of the Hawthorne Honeys golf league and a bowling league. Millie played cards with the same group of friends for over 60 years. She also enjoyed volunteering as an election worker.

Some of her favorite activities were teaching senior water aerobics at the TJ Middle School pool, gardening, and going to lunch with friends.

Every year Millie enjoyed her favorite tradition of hosting her family for Christmas Eve, when her kids and their families would gather to sing her favorite carols and sip her famous hot apple cider.

She loved watching Wisconsin sports and was often found cheering on the Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and Badgers. More than anything, she loved being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother ("GG").

Millie is survived by her six children: Kenneth (Jacquelyn) of Goodyear, AZ, David (Diva) of The Woodlands, TX, Jean (Jerry) Kopstein of Burlington, WI, Stephen (Grace "Tootsie") of Belgium, WI, Jeff (Gerianne) of New Berlin, WI, and Pat (Laurie) of Goodyear, AZ. She is further survived by and a beloved grandmother of 13 grandchildren: Jenny, Jeremy (Jamie), Kenneth "Clinton" (Tia), Stephanie, Joe (Ashley), William "Bill" (Emily), Kristina (Raul), Amanda (Jerrod), Emily (Rudy), Nathan (Niki), Kimberly, Jared (Michelle), and Bradley, 17 great-grandchildren with two more on the way, her brother Charles "Skip" (Peggy) Bichler, sister June Williams, sisters-in-law Cherie Pizzoferrato, Tillie Prom and Kathy Prom, other relatives and many friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents Charles and Veronica, her brother James Bichler and sister Ruth Bichler.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at St. John XXIII Parish- St. Mary's Church (451 Johnson St, Port Washington) on Tuesday June 13th.

A visitation with be held at the church on Tuesday the 13th from 9am - 11am.

Millie will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Mary's Cemetery, Port Washington.
