Obituary

Mildred O. Ahrens Mrs. Mildred Ahrens of Fredonia Ave. in Fredonia passed away Wednesday morning May 3rd 2006 at St. Joseph's Community Hospital in West Bend. She was 93 years old. Mildred was born in the Town of Fredonia on March 21 1913 daughter of Ernst and Emma Kirchoffer Moths. On February 6 1932 she was united in marriage with Leroy Ahrens in Silver Creek. The couple farmed together in the Town of Fredonia until 1963 when they sold the farm and bought a house in the Village. Mrs. Ahrens then worked at Allen Edmonds until 1976. Leroy preceded Mildred in death in 1994. Mildred was a member of Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Grafton and enjoyed crocheting flower gardening working word puzzles and baking. Her cookies (by the ice-cream bucket full) and chocolate filled donuts (made for her son-in-laws birthday for the last 49 years) were family favorites. She was also an avid reader and solitaire player. Mildred is survived by her daughter Sylvia (Roger) Miller of the Town of Fredonia 2 grandchildren: Todd Miller and Cynthia (David) Barber both of Fredonia and 2 great-grandchildren: Elenore and Joseph Barber also of Fredonia. She is preceded in death by her husband twin granddaughters and her sister Viola Eggert. Private family services were held.
