Michael G. Wegner of Port Washington, WI passed away on May 18th, 2017 at Horizon Lawlis Hospice in Mequon, WI and is finally at peace. He was 69 years old. Michael was born September 25th, 1947, the son of Walter "Bob" and Lorraine (nee Barth) Wegner.
Michael married Marie (nee Mauch) Wegner January 8th, 1972. They grew their family of two to eight over the years with the births of their six children, Kimberly, Kelly, Stephanie and Gregory, Marlana and Heather.
Michael worked at Rexnord Plastics in Grafton, WI for 47 years before retiring as a Production Planner in 2014.
Michael had a passion for reading; in particular science fiction. He loved technology, astronomy and trains. He loved a strong thunderstorm, his '69 Charger, Diet Pepsi and DQ Oreo Blizzards. While not a very outgoing, social man, he loved those around him in his own way.
Michael is survived by his wife, Marie and his children, Kim (Wegner) Crego, Stephanie Wegner, Gregory (Heidi) Wegner, Marlana (Cory) Birchbauer and Heather (Jim) Seitz, 6 grandchildren, Tyler, Trevor, Julia, Finn, Lucas and Kaylee and 1 great-granddaughter, Marlly Phillips. He is also survived by his parents, Bob and Lorraine Wegner and his 3 sisters, Carol (George) Krueger, Sue (Alan) Melichar and Patti (Lloyd) Sudbrink and sister-in-law, Kathy Ford.
Michael is preceded in death by his daughter Kelly (nee Wegner) Phillips, his best friend and brother, Daniel Wegner, Grandparents, Gregory and Gertrude Barth and Uncle/Aunt, Ralph and Jean Barth.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 3-6 PM at Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 West Grand Avenue Port Washington, WI. After the visitation, a gathering will be held at the Grafton Legion Hall from 6-9pm.
