IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael K.
Piwoni
September 24, 1962 – December 26, 2025
It is with profound sadness that the family of Michael K. Piwoni announce his passing. Michael was born to Eternal Life on Friday, December 26th, 2025, at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee. He was 63. Michael was the beloved son of Thomas and Marian (Bingenheimer) Piwoni, born on September 24th, 1962. He lived the majority of his life in Cedarburg, Wisconsin, living in Glendale for five years at the beginning of his marriage. Mike graduated from Cedarburg High School, class of 1981. He went on to earn an associate's degree from MATC. Mike worked for Electro-Pro Inc. for 33 years and later for Milwaukee Tool as an engineering technician.
In November of 1990, Mike met Kristine Wrezenski at Quackers Duck Pin Bowling in Thiensville. He was united in marriage to his best friend and true love, Kristi, on August 27th, 1994. They were married for 31 years and, together, raised two exceptional children, Nicholas and Samantha. Mike and Kristi loved exploring nature together, visiting Lake Michigan at many Wisconsin State Parks and enjoying Lake Mason at his in-laws' lake cottage. They enjoyed many kayaking trips together to see wildlife and sunsets, after which Mike would often tow a tired Kristi back home. Mike and Kristi were tandem cinephiles. Watching movies together was one of their favorite activities.
Mike was the beloved father of Nicholas and Samantha Piwoni. He was a mentor for the Cedarburg High School Robotics team for both of his children. He also supported both his children in Scouts, camping numerous times with Nicholas for Boy Scouts. Mike was proud of his children's musical endeavors and frequently attended concerts for Nicholas with guitar and violin, and for Samantha with voice.
Mike was a tinkerer, particularly in fixing cars. He loved watching documentaries and car restoration shows to understand the inner workings of machines. Mike never stopped learning and testing his knowledge. Watching Jeopardy! with Samantha was a nightly tradition. An avid outdoorsman, Mike spent time boating, fishing, tubing, camping, and even tried his hand at skydiving. In his twenties, he won several canoe races on the Milwaukee River. Mike loved spending time with his family and friends playing board games, dancing to '80s cover bands, or just sitting around a campfire having a laugh. He visited many of our national parks and enjoyed traveling. Mike was a proud cat dad, raising several with his wife and kids, including Twinkie, Lucy, Gracy, Blu, and Lily.
Michael's memory will be cherished by those who knew him best. He is survived by his loving wife Kristine Piwoni; adored children Nicholas (27) and Samantha (22) Piwoni; siblings Mary Hamelink, Susan Mortensen, Catherine (Randy) Tetzlaff, and Peter Piwoni; parents-in-law Nancy and Louis Wrezenski; sisters-in-law Diane Piwoni, Jeanne (Jim) Rieland, and Lisa (John) Bolka. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.
He was welcomed home to Heaven by his parents, as well as his siblings Thomas, Mark (Rita), Jerome, Leon and Robert Piwoni.
