DR. MICHAEL P. CAVANAUGH Dr. Michael Cavanaugh of Random Lake passed away Wednesday April 22 2015 in Sheboygan at the age of 79. Michael was born in Milwaukee son of Dr. Michael G. Estelle Gibb Cavanaugh. He graduated from Washington High School in Milwaukee before graduating from Marquette University Dental School. Dr. Cavanaugh served proudly as a Captain in the US Army stationed at Black Hills Army Depot in Igloo South Dakota. On August 23 1958 he was united in marriage with Betty Caspary at St. John DeNepomuc Catholic Church in Milwaukee. He opened his dental practice in Random Lake in 1965. Dr. Cavanaugh was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish the Wauwatosa Curling Club and the Random Lake Lions Club where he received the Melvin Jones Award. His life was filled with music; writing songs playing in a folk-music band The After Five with his best friends from high school John Horvath Fred Ericksen and Frank Sepic and also playing in a bluegrass band. Michael was a curler played golf and shot pool. He attended the 1967 Ice Bowl Game in Green Bay. He is survived by his wife Betty of Random Lake and their six children: Daniel (Debra) of Random Lake Joanne (Mark) LaFleche of Alpena MI Michael (Robyn) Mary (Michael) Ross John (Suanne) and Karen Cavanaugh all of Port Washington. He is further survived by 18 grandchildren 5 great-grandchildren sister Nancy (Ted) Kryshak of New Berlin sister-in-law Jeanette (Gene) Duncan of Greenfield nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Scotti Jo Kennedy. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10AM on Tuesday April 28th at Our Lady of the Lakes St. Mary Chapel 230 Butler Street in Random Lake. Father Richard Cerpich will officiate. He will be laid to rest with military honors at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. Port Washington on Monday April 27th from 4-7PM and on Tuesday at CHURCH from 9:30 until Mass at 10AM. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established in Michael's name.
