Mr. Michael Mickey Folz of Hwy A in Holy Cross (Town of Belgium) passed away unexpectedly at his home Sunday morning August 9 2015 one day shy of his 87th birthday. Mickey was born August 10 1928 in Town of Belgium the son of Michael and Anna (nee Buechler) Folz. After high school he proudly served his country in the United States Army. On June 14 1952 he was united in marriage with Joan Swatek at Holy Cross Catholic Church in the Town of Belgium. Joan preceded him in death in 2010. Mr. Folz had worked for the Ozaukee County Highway Department for 40 years. He was a member of Divine Savior Parish and VFW Post #5373. Mickey and Joan had enjoyed going to Friday Fish-Fry's in the area and belonged to the Camping Cousins camp group enjoying the company of their friendship for well over 20 years. Mickey also enjoyed fishing watching and feeding the birds and going to Harrington Beach to watch the deer. In his later years he became a passionate supporter of the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers. Mickey Folz is survived by his 5 children: Larry (Peggy) Folz of Belgium Gary (Debbie) Folz of Holy Cross Bill (Sue) Folz of Saukville Michelle (Marty) Huiras of West Bend and Jeff (Carol) Folz of Saukville. He is further survived by 4 grandchildren: Brian Alex Jenna and Jaysen 2 sisters-in-law: Betty (Art) Fellers of West Bend and Shirley Ertl of Fond du Lac nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Joan his brother Robert Folz and 1 infant sister. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6PM on Wednesday August 19 at Divine Savior Parish Holy Cross Chapel (5330 Hwy B) in the Town of Belgium. Father Todd Budde will preside. He will later be inurned at Holy Cross Cemetery beside Joan. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Wednesday from 4-6PM.
