Obituary

Mr. Michael Kallaur of Port Washington passed away Sunday morning April 28 2013 at Columbia St. Mary's Ozaukee Campus in Mequon. He was 89 years old. Michael was born March 18 1924 in Perth Amboy NJ the son of Konstantie and Catherine Swerida Kallaur. During WWII Michael proudly served his country as an Army PFC stationed in Italy Southern France Northern France and Germany. After the war Michael earned his Bachelor of Science from Rutgers University in 1949. On December 9 1950 he was united in marriage with Minnie Riley in Perth Amboy NJ. Michael was a lifelong chemist and the holder of numerous patents in the plastics industry. Locally he had worked as a lab manager at Freeman Chemical from 1977 until his retirement in 1992. He was a proud member of the American Legion Post # 2930 and in September of 2012 took part in the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight. Michael also belonged to the American Chemical Society and the Society of Plastics Industry. He was a faithful Brewers Packers and Yankees fan who had played semi-pro baseball with the Red Wings in New Jersey and more recently enjoyed golfing fishing bowling and playing sheepshead. Michael is survived by his daughter Linda (Dennis) Neumann of Osceola WI and his son Kenneth (Angela) of West Bend. He is further survived by his grandchildren: Mary and Laura Neumann and Madilyn Kallaur nieces nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Minnie granddaughter Katharine Neumann and siblings: William Victoria Hallman Alexander Mary and Margaret. Funeral Services with full military honors will be held at 6PM on Monday May 6 at Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W. Grand Ave. Port Washington. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 4-6PM. The Eernisse Funeral Home Port Washington is honored to be serving the family.
