MICHAEL H. MELSHEIMER Mr. Mike Melsheimer of Lakeview Ave. in Port Washington passed away suddenly at his home on Thursday afternoon September 12 2013 following a suspected stroke. He was 73 years old. Michael was born in Ladysmith WI on June 5 1940 son of William and Rose O'Brien Melsheimer. Following school he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. On April 27 1963 he was united in marriage with Jean Watry at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington. The couple settled in town and raised their family. Mr. Melsheimer had worked at Charter Steel in Saukville retiring in 2000 after more than 20 years on the job. Mike was a member of St. Peter's of Alcantara Catholic Church in Port Washington. He had a passion for fishing and could frequently be seen about town with his fishing buggy on his way to the lake to outsmart some fish. Mike enjoyed gardening crafting make jewelry and woodworking. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Jean and their three children: Mary Melsheimer of South Milwaukee Barb (Bob) Cramer of Appleton and Tom Melsheimer of Fond du Lac as well as two grandchildren Corinn and Mitch Cramer also of Appleton. He is further survived by his sister Clara (Joe) Weiss of Port Washington brother Ray Melsheimer of Florida nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by and infant son sister Rosemary Binsfield and three brothers: Bill John and Chuck Melsheimer. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 6 PM on Wednesday September 18th at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church 1800 N. Wisconsin St. Port Washington. Father Pat Wendt will preside. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Wednesday from 4-6PM. The Eernisse Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
