Michael N. Harrington, of Port Washington passed away on Friday, March 15, 2019. He was 76 years old. Michael was born on March 8, 1943 in Port Washington to Michael and Dorothy (nee VandeBoom) Harrington. Michael was united in marriage to Dorothy (nee Bares) on August 19, 1967 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Michael and Dorothy resided in the same home where they raised their daughters for all 51 years of their marriage. Michael was a dedicated employee in the grocery business, where he held various positions over the years. Michael was a simple man who enjoyed the simple things in life. In his free time Michael enjoyed gardening and spending time joking with his grandchildren. Above all things, family was most important to him. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Dorothy, daughters Michele (Robert) Mueller of Port Washington, Lynn (Michael) Dreier of Port Washington, grandchildren Jacob Mueller, Noah Mueller, Caitlin Dreier and Nicholas Dreier, sisters Marianne Gundrum of West Bend, Colleen (Robert) Ruhnke of Kewaskum, brother Thomas (Maggie) Harrington of California, sisters-in-law Betty Gottsacker of Shawno, Leona Bares of Belgium, Kathleen Bares of Belgium, Mary Bares of Belgium, brothers-in-law Donald (Julie) Bares of Belgium and Bert (Jean) Bares of Belgium. Michael is preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law Les Gundrum, Robert Bares, Kenneth Bares, Gene Bares and Gene Gottsacker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 6:30 PM at St. John XXIII Parish St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church. The family will receive visitors from 4:30 PM until the time of mass at 6:30 PM. Full military honors will follow the mass. Michael will be laid to rest at Holy Cross Cemetery the following day.
