Mr. Mike Dimmer of the Town of Cedarburg, formerly of Port Washington, passed away Monday morning, October 21, 2019 at Lawlis Family Hospice Center in Mequon at the age of 53. Mike had been eagerly waiting for a lung transplant after fighting pulmonary disease for many years.
Michael was born on June 6, 1966 in Milwaukee, son of Judith Dimmer. He grew up in Port Washington where he was raised by his grandparents Alphonse and Wilma Dimmer. Mike attended local schools and Port Washington High School.
Mr. Dimmer moved to the Town of Cedarburg in 1994 and began his business, Industrial Restoration. He was very dedicated to his work. In his downtime, Mike enjoyed snowmobiles, four-wheelers, dirt bikes, and classic cars including a 1971 Chevy Camero that he had owned since high school and had lovingly restored. Mr. Dimmer had competed in many of the truck-pulls and demolition derbies at the Ozaukee County Fair, and had some first place trophies in his collection to show for it. He also enjoyed watching movies, especially action films.
On August 16, 2003, Mike was united in marriage with Theresa Woolever at St. John Lutheran Church in Grafton. The couple resided in the Town of Cedarburg and raised their family.
Mike is survived by his wife Terri and five children: Corey (Katherine "Nicki") Dimmer of Horicon, Kathleen "Katie" Dimmer of Appleton, Alyssa Bruss of West Bend, Joshua Ohrt of Madison and Michaela Dimmer of Cedarburg. He is further survived by 7 grandchildren, brother Ray "Fritz" (Helen) Lavrenz of Kewaskum, aunts and uncles Shelly & Gerry Zvara of Grafton, Andrea & Ron Harmon of Laurel, MT, Dan Dimmer of Port Washington and Ron (Pat) Dimmer of Saukville, mother-in-law Rita Woolever of Hillsboro, WI, cousins, other family and many friends. He is preceded in death by his mother Judy Lavrenz and grandparents Alphonse & Wilma Dimmer.
Funeral Services will take place at 7PM on Friday, October 25th at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., in Port Washington. Pastor Paul Bulgerin will preside. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4-7PM.
