IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Michael T.
Beattie
September 11, 1947 – March 24, 2026
Michael “Mike” Beattie, of Port Washington, passed away unexpectedly on the afternoon of Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the age of 78.
Mike was born in Winnebago County, WI to Lester and Dorothy (née Koerwitz) Beattie. He spent his early years in the Fox Valley and graduated from Winneconne High School with the Class of 1966. These formative years helped shape the strong work ethic and quiet determination that would define him throughout his life.
On December 21, 1991, Mike was united in marriage with Barbara Wester (Janeshek) in Port Washington, beginning a loving partnership that remained a steadfast source of joy and support.
Mike was a gifted carpenter and woodworker who took great pride in his craft. As the owner of his own contracting business, he was a master craftsman, building lasting relationships with those he served. He was deeply involved in his community, serving as the current president of the KW Storage Condo Association, a former president of the Port Washington Charter Captains Association and as a board member of the Green Lake Property Owners Association. He was also an active member of the Highlands Gun Club in Campbellsport and Ducks Unlimited.
An outdoorsman at heart, Mike found his greatest happiness on the water or in the field. He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, and shooting sporting clays. He also had a special passion for carving duck decoys, a skill lovingly passed down from his father—one that reflected both his artistry and his appreciation for tradition.
Mike will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Barbara, his three sons; Scott (Sara) Janeshek, Brian Janeshek, and Mark (Colleen) Janeshek, and his four cherished grandchildren; Stuart, Sullivan, and Sienna Janeshek, and Jordan (Adrian) Robinson. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by his presence.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Dorothy, as well as his in-laws, Bertram and Verena Wester.
In accordance with Mike’s wishes, private family services will be held.
He will be laid to rest at St. Mary Parish Cemetery, Lake Church.
The Eernisse Funeral Home of Port Washington is honored to serve the Beattie family. Online condolences may be shared at www.eernissefuneralhome.com.
