MERLYN ldquo;Sleepyrdquo; SCHARNOW Merlyn ldquo;Sleepyrdquo; Scharnow age 78 years of 617 Sauk Drive Port Washington died early Sunday morning November 16 2008 at Vitas Innovative Hospice in Wauwatosa.nbsp; He was born March 9 1930 in Shawano WI son of Arthur and Matilda Schultz Scharnow. He served in the U.S. Marines during the end of WW II.nbsp; On October 3 1953 he married Marian Wollner at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Cedarburg.nbsp; Sleepy worked as an electrician for Olson Electric Miller Electric was a partner in D amp; S. Electric and operated Nrsquo;Ice amp; Cold Ice Co. in Port Washington.nbsp; He was a member of St. Maryrsquo;s Catholic Church former commander of Van Ells-Schanen American Legion and enjoyed playing cribbage hunting motorcycles and snowmobiling.nbsp; He is survived by his wife Marian two children Michael (Brenda) Scharnow of Fountain Hills AZ and Michele (Michael) Howard of Hales Corners six grandchildren Joshua Zachary Mariah (Joseph) Mackenzie Michaela and Mason his sister Diane (Jim) Adams of Vista CA two sisters in law Mildred (Francis ldquo;Budrdquo;) Kaiser of Port Washington and Dolores (the late Carl) Wollner of Saukville and his brother in law Herbert (LaVerne) Wollner of Cedarburg. He was preceded in death by one brother Lyle. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday eve. November 18 6 PM at St. Maryrsquo;s Catholic Church with Father Tom Lijewski officiating.nbsp; Visitation will be at the CHURCH Tuesday from 4-6 PM with American Legion walk-thru at 5 PM. nbsp;Memorials to the American Lung Association or charity of your choice appreciated.nbsp; br /Service:br /pA mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday evening November 18 6PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port Washington./p
