Matthew "Matt" D. Lewandowski of Cedarburg passed away too soon at home on Sunday January 12th at the age of 26. Matthew Douglas Lewandowski was born on December 12, 1993 in Port Washington, WI. The son of Mary (née Riewesthal) and Douglas Lewandowski. After graduating from Cedarburg High School in 2012, he had many opportunities in life. From auto mechanic, working on a buffalo ranch in South Dakota, being a ferrier, and then enlisting in the US Army. After receiving his honorable discharge, Matt started his own Handyman business which he took great pride in.
Matt excelled in all of his career choices. He was a true skilled individual who took pride in his work and in everyday tasks. Matt loved pretty much anything outdoors. Whether it was hunting, fishing, trapping or just a long weekend Up North. He also loved tinkering with his tools, riding his Harley Davidson and was a proud member of American Legion Post 288 in Cedarburg. Matt was an Old Soul who had the kindest heart and was loved by everyone he met. He will be so deeply missed by all, and never forgotten.
Survivors include his mother Mary Lewandowski of Cedarburg; father Douglas (Jean) Lewandowski of Port Washington; sisters Amy (Noah) Lichtenstein of Cedarburg, Jamie Lewandowski of Port Washington, and Shaun (Jerome) Styles of Port Washington; grandmother Dolores Lewandowski of Saukville; loving girlfriend Hannah Kloehn; best friend Bryce Engel of Cedarburg, and his loyal dog Doby. Further survived by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Proceeded in death by grandparents, Arnold and Virginia Riewesthal of Cedarburg, and Donald Lewandowski of Saukville.
Celebration of Life followed by Military Honors at 1:00 PM on Saturday January 18th at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave. in Cedarburg. The family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, and at a reception to be held immediately following the Celebration of Life.
