Mary Ann Wester
Mary Ann Wester, of Belgium, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee. She was 84 years old. Mary Ann’s warmth, steady faith, and generous heart touched all who knew her.
Mary Ann was born on August 31, 1941, in Port Washington, the cherished daughter of Nicholas and Anna Marie (née Schreiner) Poull. She grew up in Port Washington and graduated with the Class of 1959 from Port Washington High School. On June 24, 1961, she married the love of her life, Arnold “Arnie” Wester, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Port Washington. Together they built a beautiful life grounded in faith, hard work, and devotion to family.
Mary Ann and Arnie made their home in Belgium, where they raised their five children and established Wester Oil Co., which Arnie operated until his retirement in 1996. Mary Ann was a familiar and friendly face as a bank teller at Port Washington State Bank in Saukville for many years, greeting customers with her gentle smile and kind conversation. She took great pride in serving her community and valued the friendships she formed there.
Faith and fellowship were central to Mary Ann’s life. She was a longtime and faithful member of Divine Savior Parish (formerly St. Mary Lake Church), where she was a member of the Christian Women, and she was active in the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 412, and the Catholic Knights. Through these groups, she cultivated lasting friendships and found joy in shared laughter, service, and companionship.
Above all, Mary Ann treasured her family. She is lovingly survived by her five children: Kay (Sean) Reppen, Jane Wester, Anne (Jim) Van Deusen, Peggy Wester, and Patrick Wester. She is further survived by five grandchildren: Meghan (Jon) Studer, Nick, Dan (Jess), and Brendan Reppen, and Nathan Wester, two great-grandchildren Charlie and Nora, her sister Teri (John) Ternes, sister-in-law Cathy Poull, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents Nicholas and Anna Marie, her husband Arnie, her brother Bill Poull, her sister Sue (the late Rich) Schmit, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.
Her family was her greatest blessing, and she found her deepest happiness in gathering them close, celebrating milestones, and quietly supporting each of them with unwavering love.
Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Sunday, February 22, 2026, at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 171 N. Royal Ave., Belgium, from 2 PM to 5 PM, and again on Monday, February 23rd at the CHURCH from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Divine Savior Parish – Holy Cross Chapel, 5330 County Road B, Belgium, with Father Don Thimm presiding.
Mary Ann will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Arnie, at St. Mary Parish Cemetery in Lake Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Belgium Fire and Rescue Department.
The Eernisse Funeral Home in Belgium is honored to serve the Wester family. Online condolences may be shared at www.eernissefuneralhome.com.
