IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Mary Lou
Wagner
May 19, 1933 – December 29, 2022
Mary Lou Wagner of Port Washington was called to her heavenly home on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the age of 89. She was born May 19, 1933, in the Township of Red Cedar Lake, WI to John and Mary (nee Link) Drnek. Mary Lou was united in marriage to Elmer Wagner in Chilton, WI on October 14, 1961, and together they had four children.
Mary Lou took great pride in her family and worked hard to bring love to everyone she came in contact with. Mary Lou was a UW Madison graduate and taught home economics for over 30 years in Wilmot, Johnson Creek, Port Washington and Grafton. All four of her sons have heard from dozens of her former students over the years about how nice she was and how great of a teacher she was. In retirement, Mary Lou was active in the Friendship Club.
Our family is very sad and will miss her greatly, but that is offset by knowing that Mary Lou lived a long life touching many other people's lives through the years and that brings us great joy and happy memories.
Those left to cherish Mary Lou's memory are her husband, Elmer; children Mike (Mary) Wagner (Grafton, WI), Tom (Teri) Wagner (Surprise, AZ), Rich Wagner (Hudson, WI) and Dave (Dawn) Wagner (Saukville); grandchildren Emma, Evan, Ezra, Katie, Taylor, Austin, Madeline, Owen, Trent, Madison and great grandchildren Trey & Ellie.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00PM on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at St. John XXIII Catholic Parish – St. Peter of Alcantara church site, 1800 N. Wisconsin St., Port Washington, WI 53074. Father Patrick Wendt will preside. The family will receive visitors at the church from 10:00AM-12:00PM. Mary Lou will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Port Washington.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Grafton Education Foundation.
Special thank you to Sandy Berres, family friends, neighbors, and all the healthcare professionals who cared for Mary Lou at Aurora Hospital Grafton, Froedert Hospital, Ascension Living Franciscan Place and Ascension Hospital Elmbrook; these are all very special people.
