Mr. Martin Rennicke of Belgium, formerly of Cedarburg, passed away at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton Friday afternoon, March 16, 2018. He was 69 years old. Marty was born in Milwaukee on April 25, 1948, son of Delmore and Edna Hintz Rennicke. He grew up in Cedarburg, attending local schools and graduating from Cedarburg High School, Class of 1966.
He went on to proudly serve his country in the US Army during the Viet Nam war. On July 25, 1970, shortly after he left service, Marty was united in marriage with Diane Burgess. The couple moved to Saukville before settling in Belgium in 1972. Mr. Rennicke worked as a mechanic at 5-Corners GMC in Cedarburg for over 40 years, retiring in 2007. When not at work, Marty could be found tinkering with his own muscle cars. He enjoyed going to car shows, especially the ones in Saukville, as well as piloting RC cars in his spare time. Most of all, he loved just being outdoors.
Marty is survived by his loving wife Diane and their two children, Janice Stadler of Saukville and Michael (Peggy) Rennicke of Fredonia. He is further survived by grandchildren Carson and Connor Rennicke, also of Fredonia, sister Carol Rennicke Cochran of Waupaca, special family friend Marta Arroqi, other family and friends.
As per Marty's wishes, cremation has taken place and an informal Celebration of Life will take place on March 31 at the family's home in Fredonia. Guests will be received from 3-7PM. If desired, memorials to the charity of the donor's choice are suggested in lieu of flowers.
