Obituary

Mark, loving dad, grandpa, brother, godfather, and uncle passed away in his sleep on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the age of 70. He was born the beloved son of Ralph and Carol (Burton) Vande Boom on September 22, 1954, in Port Washington, WI.

Mark was a jack of all trades. From welding and fabricating to heavy equipment operating, woodworking, and being a chauffeur for his grandkids; He took great pride in everything he did. He loved to see the smile on the faces of friends and family when presenting projects, he would make for them. From wooden shut boxes to gun cases and shotgun shell American flags, no detail was ever left out. If Mark had made it, it was pretty much indestructible! Mark was a social butterfly. He would make his weekly rounds to sign in at local establishments and enjoyed socializing with his friends while he was there.

Mark was an avid trap shooter and fisherman until his back problems just wouldn't let him do it anymore. Mark took great pride in maintaining the property of the family farm where he grew up and still lived prior to his passing. He would always make sure the property was well maintained and loved spending time by the river to enjoy the peace and quiet, but his biggest pride was in seeing his kids and grandkids grow up. He was proud of how they grew into adults and how his grandkids were raised. Mark would drop everything he was doing to help any of them. From babysitting his grandkids when they were younger to giving them rides to or from sporting practice or work or anything in between, you could count on him!

Mark's memory will be cherished by those who knew him best. He is survived by his children Lee (Charity) Vande Boom of Cedar Grove, Brad (Jennifer) Vande Boom of Saukville and Mindy (Mike) Tesker of Saukville; grandchildren, Jaeven, Caleb, Madalynn, Max and Mitch; siblings, Gary (Betty) Vande Boom, Lori (Mike) Paulus, and Roger (Sharon) Vande Boom. He is further survived by the mother of his children Dawn (Chris) McCormick, many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Lisa and her husband Terry Kison.
