Marjorie Polivka Welky was born in Crystal Falls MI on December 11, 1928 but lived the majority of her life in Milwaukee WI. She was married to Emmett for 71 years until his passing in 2021.

She was the beloved mother of Deborah Miles (Mark), James Welky (Linda), Pamela Paul and David Welky. She was the perfect grandmother of Krista Joy Welky, Jennifer Garbos (Greg), Clifford Charles Richards III, Betsy Bailey (Matthew), Ray Welky (Amanda) and Brooks & Jon Connor Paul and the perfect great-grandmother of Orion & Celeste Garbos, Andrew & Anna Bailey and Mason & Avery Welky. She is further survived by her sister, Celia Dunfee, of Cedarburg and was preceded in death by her son James, granddaughter Krista and grandson Brooks.

In her senior year of high school, Marjorie applied for and was offered a job by the FBI but her mother, Anna, refused to let her take it as it was in Washington DC. Anna eventually approved Milwaukee, where Marjorie met and married Emmett, who had just returned from service with the US Marine Corps in DC. "So we would've met either way," Marjorie noted.

The two were perfect partners, working together through life's challenges and enjoying everything this world has to offer. Marjorie's focus was homemaking, but her talents extended far beyond that. She was listed in "Golf Digest" as Most Improved Golfer at West Bend Country Club; she could cook, bake, knit, sew, tat, crochet, refinish and upholster furniture, play the piano, sculpt and paint in both oil & watercolor. She consistently bested all her children at Scrabble and, in later years, became known as The Puzzle Queen for her proficiency in logic puzzles, crosswords, sudoku and jigsaw puzzles.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00am on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church North, 1375 Covered Bridge Rd., Cedarburg, WI 53012. The family will receive friends and relatives at the church from 10:00-11:00am. Marjorie will be laid to rest next to her husband at St. Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Cemetery, Milwaukee, WI

Because Marjorie was an avid gardener, the family requests that donors send all the flowers they want. For her fellow philanthropists, donations may be made to the donor's favorite charity in Marjorie's name.
