Marjorie J. Schaefernbsp;nbsp; ldquo;Janerdquo;\r\nMrs. Jane Schaefer formerly of Grand Ave. in Port Washington Brooklyn and Middleton WI passed away Wednesday evening December 2 2009 at Luella Heights in Grafton where she had been residing for the last few months.nbsp; She was 90 years old.nbsp; Jane was born in Port Washington on April 9 1919 daughter of Charles and Ida Corbeille Travers.nbsp; After graduating from Port Washington High School Jane attended UW Madison where she earned her degree in Registered Nursing.nbsp; She was united in marriage with Philip W. Smith on September 7 1941 in Port Washington.nbsp; The couple settled in Middleton and raised their family.nbsp; Mrs. Smith worked as a Registerd Nurse for University Hospital in Madison from 1956 until her retirement.nbsp; In 1976 the couple moved to Brooklyn WI.nbsp; Philip preceded her in death in 1991.nbsp; Jane moved back to Port Washington following her marriage to Charles Schaefer on January 15 1994.nbsp; Jane was a past member of Middleton Community Church as well as a past member of The Order of Eastern Star (Middleton OES No. 150).nbsp; She enjoyed collecting antiques traveling and was an avid reader.nbsp; Her house always had window-boxes filled with tuberous begonias.nbsp; When she moved to Brooklyn she became very interested in genealogy and through research was able to apply for and receive admittance to the United Empire Loyalists of Canada.nbsp; Jane is survived by her husband Charles of Port Washington her 7 children: Steven Smith of Des Plaines IL Nancy Robertson of Fresno CA Mark (Donna Walsh) Smith of Brooklyn WI Laurie Fehlhaber of Grafton Craig (Cheri) Smith of Plover Reed (Judy) Smith of Binghamton NY and Scot (Lise) Smith of Missoula MT as well as 4 step-children: Kathy (Jack) Peiffer of Belgium Peggy (Geoff) Greiveldinger of Racine Kelly (Terri) Schaefer of St. Croix Megan Schaefer of Port Washington and Carolyn (the late Charles Jr.) Schaefer of Wauwatosa.nbsp; She is further survived by 6 grandchildren 8 great-grandchildren numerous step grand- and great-grandchildren nieces nephews other relatives and friends.nbsp; She is preceded in death by her first husband Philip Smith her step-son Charles Schaefer Jr. brother Wesley (the late Gwen) Travers and sister Evelyn (the late Joseph) Ubbink.nbsp; Funeral Services will be held at 2PM on Tuesday December 8th at the Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington.nbsp; She will be laid to rest beside her family in Union Cemetery Port Washington.nbsp; The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1-2PM.nbsp; Memorials are suggested to the Arthritis Foundation.nbsp; br /Service:br /p2:00 PM at Eernisse Funeral Home 1600 W.
