Obituary

MARJORIE ANGELINE GEGENHUBER (WOLLNER) Mrs. Marjorie A. Gegenhuber passed away peacefully at Symphony of Evanston on Friday, October 7, 2016. She was 91 years old. Marjorie was born on the family farm homestead in the Town of Saukville, WI on January 5, 1925, daughter of Robert and Florence Waldkirch Wollner. On June 21, 1945 Marjorie was united in marriage with Herbert Gegenhuber at St. Augustine Catholic Church in the Town of Trenton. The couple lived in Milwaukee, Cedar Rapids IA, and Moline, IL before settling in Palatine, IL. She moved to Wauconda, IL and later with her son in Waterson, WI, and finally with her daughter, Mary, in Evanston, IL. Marjorie deeply loved her seven children and their families. Her friendship was valued by all who met her. She enjoyed arts & crafts, was an avid reader and was beloved for her German cooking. She was fun, warm, charming, insightful, forgiving, laughed easily and had a very wry sense of humor. Marjorie was a faithful Catholic and proud Democrat who enjoyed good-natured discussions of politics and social issues. Marjorie is survived by her children: Diane (the late Doug) Stanard of Niles, IL, Matthew (Joan Logan) Gegenhuber of Hawkins, WI, David Gegenhuber of Madison, Mary (Brian Johnson) Gegenhuber of Evanston, IL, John (Marie Del Prete) Gegenhuber of Los Angeles, CA and Kurt (Jennifer Willoughby) Gegenhuber of Minneapolis, MN. Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband Herbert, her son Mark Gegenhuber and brothers Jerome and Lawrence Wollner. Marjorie's favorite charities were to benefit children and animals. If you would like to make a donation, informing the family would be greatly appreciated so they can acknowledge your gift; Red Cloud Indian School, St. Labre's Indian School, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, The Humane Society and PETA.
