MARIE JACOBY Mrs. Marie Jacoby of Lone Elm Road in the Town of Belgium passed away at her residence Monday morning October 3 2005. She was 96 years old. Marie was born on the family farm in the Town of Belgium on September 24 1909 daughter of Englebert and Mary Thomes Bares. On October 28 1933 she was united in marriage with George Jacoby at Holy Cross Catholic Church in the Town of Belgium. The couple farmed in the area until the mid-1960's. They were also among the first owners of the Belgium Community Center where Marie worked as a cook. Mrs. Jacoby was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish St. Nicholas Chapel in Dacada as well as a member of the Christian Women. She enjoyed quilt- making gardening and sewing Marie is survived by 4 brothers: Syl (the late Rosalia) Bares of Port Washington Ed (the late Betty) Bares of Belgium Clarence (the late Eleanor) Bares of Belgium and Lester (Janet) Bares of Tomahawk and 1 sister Elisa (the late Elmer) Bauer of Fredonia She is further survived by 3 sisters-in-law Melvina (the late Al) Bares of Port Washington Mildred Jacoby of the Town of Belgium and Violet (the late Wally) Bares of Port Washington loving family members Mary Dave Jacalyn and Ryan Schimberg Melissa Mark and Egya Reddy nieces nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband George 4 brothers: Al Louis (the late Margaret) George (the late Cecilia) and Wally Bares and 1 sister Leona (the late Joseph) Buechler. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday October 7th 7PM from the Eernisse Funeral Home in Belgium going to Our Lady of the Lakes Parish St. Nicholas Chapel Dacada for mass at 7:30 PM. Father Richard Cerpich and Father James Ernster will officiate. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in the parish cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the Eernisse Funeral Home 171 N. Royal Ave. (Hwy LL Park St.) Belgium on Friday evening from 5-7PM. Memorials are appreciated.
