Marie V. Broecker (nee Straus, formerly Uselding), passed away at Forest Haven in Fredonia on Monday, April 30, 2018. She was 93 years old. Marie was born on September 2, 1924 in the Town of Belgium. She was the youngest and last surviving of eight children to Lawrence and Mary (nee Schmidt) Straus. Marie is survived by her children: Eileen (Daniel) Bittner of Fredonia, James (Sharlene) Uselding of Fredonia, daughter-in-law Pam Plier (Uselding), grandchildren: Chrissy (Tom), Bob (Brandi), Jayne, Mike (Jamie), Brenda (Scott), Becky (Brad), April (Marshall), Kimberly (Trevor), Jennifer, Christopher (Maggie), 17 great-grandchildren, 7 step children and many step grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews and friends. Marie is preceded in death by her first husband Edward Uselding, son Gerald Uselding, 3 infant children, 7 siblings and their spouses and second husband Raymond Broecker. A Funeral Service for Marie will be held on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 12:00 PM at Eernisse Funeral Home (171 North Royal Avenue Belgium, Wisconsin 53004). Rosary prayers held at 11:30. Father James Ernster will officiate the service. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00.
