MARGUERITE H. HILGENDORF Mrs. Marguerite Hilgendorf passed away the evening of Friday, February 9, 2018. She was 82 years old. Marguerite was born in Germantown on April 10, 1935, daughter of Henry and Verona Steinbach Bellin. On June 12, 1954, she was united in marriage with Earl J. Hilgendorf at Trinity Lutheran Church in Freistadt. The couple lived in Mequon until Earl preceded Marguerite in death in 2016. A master seamstress, Marguerite's four girls and granddaughters were graced by her talents. Her German potato salad was legendary, requested at every function. And, of course, her tortes were second to none. A longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church - Freistadt, she sang in the Senior Choir. Guided by her religious faith, she devoted hundreds of hours to her church through improvement projects, upkeep of the buildings, and ensuring the church grounds were kept in pristine condition. She was the cherished mother of Debby (Dave) Balsiger, Christi (Jim) DeLong, Blaine (Kay) Hilgendorf, Angie (Randy) Monroe and Becky (Dave) Blank, adored grandmother of Duane (Monica) Balsiger, Diana (Ryan) Kegal, Elizabeth, Jon and Dan DeLong, Jessica (Kemuel) Morales, Jordan (Rico) Buentello, Melissa Hilgendorf, Andrew (Kristina) Kossow, Heidi Kossow, Brad and Dani Blank and dear great-grandmother to Mason and Maddy Balsiger, Luka Buentello and Maximus Earl Kossow. She is further survived by sisters Dorothy (the late Victor) Frenz and Etta (Elmer) Held, sister-in-law Lois Hilgendorf, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl, and an infant brother. Funeral Services will be held at 2PM on Saturday, February 17th at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, 10729 W. Freistadt Road, Mequon. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Saturday from 11AM until time of service. Memorials, if desired, are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or Beautiful Savior Church – Mequon.
