Margaret C. Pauly Margaret Clara Pauly 94 of Port Washington died peacefully on July 5 2008. She was a resident of the Harbor Club for a number of years and had been living in Port Washington since 1948. Margaret was born on February 22 1914 the daughter of Fred and Clara Gebhardt Reik of Milwaukee. She graduated from South Division High School as class valedictorian and later from the Wisconsin Teachersrsquo; College. In 1940 while working as a math teacher in Sheboygan she married Attorney Erwin N. Pauly. The couple settled in Port Washington where Erwin established his law practice. He preceded her in death in 1969. Margaret was active in the community leading the Hospital Auxiliary and the Gift Shop at St. Alphonsus Hospital and was also a member of the local PTA and the Daughters of Isabella. Margaret had a passion for her grandchildren gardening classical music and bridge. She was wonderfully creative and always had a smile. She is survived by four of her children: Tom (Marta) of Jacksonville FL; Mary Pauly Lacy of Milwaukee; Jim (Mary Jo) of Port Washington and Martha (Bill) Pauly Banning of Overland Park KS. Her son Fr. Bill Pauly S.J. died suddenly in November 2006. Margaret is also survived by two siblings Fred Reik of Allenton NJ and Elizabeth Sutter of Jacksonville FL. She is preceded in death by her sister Ruth Packard of Milwaukee. Margaret is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at St. Peter of Alcantara Catholic Church 1800 N. Wisconsin St. in Port Washington on Monday July 7 2008. Rev. Peter Etzel S.J. will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the church on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial commencing at 6:00 p.m. She will be laid to rest the next day beside her husband in the parish cemetery. The family is very grateful to the staff of the Harbor Club and Vitas Hospice for their great care of their mother. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the Fr. Bill Pauly S.J.
