Of Milwaukee, went home peacefully on December 11, 2022 at the age of 100 years, 1 week and 6 days.

Born November 28, 1922, on the family farm in Wayside, WI, Marcie grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Bayview High School. She was the Executive Secretary to the Public Relations manager at AC Spark Plug (currently Delco). The company made the guidance systems for NASA during the Apollo Spacecraft missions and Marcie met many of the people involved in the program, including the NASA astronauts. Following her retirement at age 65, Marcie went back to work at Minnesota Fabrics and worked an additional 16 years. She was a master seamstress and enjoyed fine knitting and needlecraft. She liked creative projects and crafting as well. Marcie loved to travel and went to many locations in the US and abroad.

Survived by her cherished son and light of her life, Michael "Mike" (Nanette "Nan") Giles, she was the dear "Gramma Marcie" of Dana (Weston Bierma) Walenta, Kayla Walenta and "Great-Gramma" of Kodi Lex Bierma, all of Vail, CO. She is further survived by nephew John (Nancy) Haese of Onalaska, WI, niece Judy (Mike) Check of Manitowoc, WI, many other extended family and friends. Marcie was preceded in death by her dear mother Ruth (nee Borchardt) and father Donald Harling, her step-daughter Joan Follmer (who was really more like a sister!), and nephew Theodore "Ted" Frederickson.

Visitation will be held at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1167 Washington Ave., Cedarburg, on Friday, December 16th from 12-1:30PM, with a prayer service at 1:30PM. Marcie will be laid to rest beside her parents in Arlington Park Cemetery, Milwaukee.

Memorials are suggested to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight in lieu of flowers.
