Obituary

James McQuinn, age 79 years of 208 Wildflower Circle, Port Washington, passed away at his residence on Sunday, September 23, 2018. He was born November 6, 1938 in Columbus, Indiana, son of Gilbert and Helen (Souvikroop) McQuinn. James served in the U.S. Army from 1961 – 1981, retiring as a Major. On December 27, 1963, he married Barbara Smiley in Greenwood, Indiana. After retiring from the Army, he worked in Non-Appropriated Funds at Ft. Rucker, Alabama. After leaving Ft. Rucker, he worked at Coleman American Movers, retiring as the manager of the San Diego site. James was a member of the Saukville American Legion, Saukville Moose Lodge, Masonic Lodge in Newton, Alabama, and the Military Benefits Association. He was an avid bowler and served as a sports official for baseball, softball, soccer, football, and basketball. Survivors include his wife Barbara, three daughters Lisa (Ron Phulps) Mills of Santa Anna, CA, Jai (Gurameet Singh) Khalsa of Bronx, NY, and Helen Fletcher of Port Washington, 9 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, two sisters Kay Sinkhorn of Indianapolis, Indiana and Jacqueline Hartman of Greenfield, Indiana and his brother Danny Joe McQuinn of Carmel, Indiana. He was preceded in death by two sons James Edward and Stuart Lee. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 17, 1-3 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington, followed by military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Mooseheart Child City & School, Inc. Mooseheart, IL 60539 appreciated. The Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington is honored to be serving the family.
