Obituary

MABEL M. SCHANEN (Formerly Lesch) Mrs. Mabel Schanen of Lake Street in Port Washington passed away at Season's Hospice in Waukesha Thursday afternoon July 9 2015 at the age of 83. Mabel was born in Port Washington on June 5 1932 daughter of John and Edna Tuttle Rismeyer. She attended local schools and graduated from Port Washington High School. On February 9 1952 Mabel was united in marriage with Ervin E. Lesch in Crown point IN. The couple settled in Port Washington and raised their daughter Linda. Ervin preceded her in death on April 22 2004. Mabel later married Francis Schanen in July of 2006. He preceded her in death by one day. Mrs. Schanen was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Port Washington. She loved animals - especially parrots and cats- and enjoyed gardening. Mabel is survived by her daughter Linda (Peter) Peltier of Vadnais Heights MN three grandsons: Ted (Samantha) Peter and Nick Peltier all of Vadnais Heights MN stepdaughters Shawn (Lance) Johnson and Holly (the late Robert) Schanen step-grandson Josey Schanen all of Grafton nieces nephews other relatives and friends . She is preceded in death by husbands Ervin and Francis as well as two sisters: Hazel Budrick and Ethel Fusher. A graveside service is planned for a later date at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove where she will be laid to rest beside her first husband.
