Mr. Lyle Brown of Cedarburg passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 30, 2024, at Lasata Care Center. He was 84 years old.

Lyle was born in Knellsville, outside of Port Washington, on September 8, 1939, son of Ray and Matilda (nee Vanderloop) Brown. The family lived in Cedarburg and Lyle attended local schools, graduating from Cedarburg High School, Class of 1957.

In 1959, Lyle was united in marriage with Sherry Schutz. The couple settled in Cedarburg and raised their family. Sherry preceded Lyle in death in 1994.

Lyle was a supervisor at Doerr Electric and later worked at Super Steel. He retired in 2004 at the age of 65.

Lyle was a long-time member of St. Francis Borgia Parish in Cedarburg. He was also a member of Moose Lodge 1043 in Saukville. While he enjoyed playing golf and collecting coins, his true passion was shooting sports; Lyle enjoyed shooting trap, pistol, skeet and sporting clays. He was a long-time member of Saukville Rifle and Pistol Club and enjoyed spending his free time there with his buddies. He was also a proud member of the NRA.

Those left to cherish his memory include his children Renee Eldredge of Saukville, Darrell (Deborah) Brown of Grafton, and Jennifer (John) Evans, also of Grafton, 8 grandchildren: Ryan, Stephanie, Chelsi, Samantha, Michelle, Jaime, Lelaina "Olive", and Alexander, and 3 great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Emma, and Aubrey. Lyle is further survived by brother Richard (the late Marianne) Brown, sister Mary (Mark) Rogers, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Sherry, brother Raymond (Gail) Brown, sister Patricia Webb, and his twin sister Ila (Don) McGarry.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5PM on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at St. Francis Catholic Parish North, 1375 Covered Bridge Road, Cedarburg. Father Matthew Ferch will preside. Lyle will be laid to rest beside his wife in Zur Ruhe Cemetery, Cedarburg, at a later date. The family will receive visitors at the church on Wednesday, August 14th, from 3PM until Mass begins at 5PM.
