LUELLA M. NICHOLS Mrs. Luella Nichols of Riveredge Drive in Cedarburg passed away Friday afternoon November 30 2012 at Cedar Springs Rehabilitation Center in Cedarburg where she had been undergoing therapy following a hospital stay. She was 90 years old. Luella was born in Prairie du Sac on July 30 1922 daughter of William and Martha Zug Yngsdal. Following her schooling Lou moved to Iowa and met her future husband. She served in the US Navy as a WAVE. Lou was united in marriage with Ray G. Nichols in the chapel at the Navy Training Facility at Sampson NY on June 30 1944. Following the end of the war the couple moved back to Iowa and ran a movie theater in Lovilia before later moving to Wisconsin and settling in Middleton to raise their family. The family moved to Cedarburg in 1953. Mr. Nichols preceded her in death in 1997. Luella was a very active member of Cedarburg Community United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir helped with the newsletter and communion preparation. She was also a member of the Ozaukee Senior Choir an active volunteer at Lasata and Cedar Springs Care Centers a former member of the Cedarburg Music Parents group and a proud sponsor of the Mercury Thunderbolts Drum Bugle Corp. Mrs. Nichols was also a very active member of the Peter Wollner American Legion Auxiliary where she was known as The Money Lady at the Fish Fry. Lou was well known for her wonderful baking and her love of helping others. Mrs. Nichols is survived by her two sons Craig (Barbara) Nichols of Royersford PA and Kerry (Lynn) Nichols of Port Washington. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren: David Erica Kristin Heidi and Trevor 3 great-grandchildren: Benjamin Ariel and Sheleigh 2 sisters: Pat Hathaway of Bradenton FL and Myrt Fieldhouse of Port Washington 4 brothers: Willard Yngsdal of Brookfield Robert (Elaine) Yngsdal of Reedsburg Edward (Marion) Yngsdal of Fond du Lac and Arthur (Donna) of Prairie du Sac. She is further survived by nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. Lou is preceded in death by her husband Ray infant son Brian granddaughter Shelly brother William and sister Bea. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday December 6 at the Cedarburg Community United Methodist Church W68N563 Evergreen Blvd. Cedarburg. Rev. David Blackmer will officiate. Following services she will be inurned at Zur Ruhe Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive visitors at CHURCH on Thursday from 1-2PM. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Peter Wollner American Legion Post or to Cedarburg Community United Methodist Church.
