Lucy S. Polczynski (nee Knipp), age 68, found Eternal Peace on Thursday, January 28th, 2016 at Lawlis Family Hospice in Mequon surrounded by her loving family. Lucy was born on February 5, 1947 to Cyril and Santa (nee Cefalu) Knipp. She was united in marriage to Frank Polczynski on November 11, 1967.
Lucy leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 48 years, Frank: two children Ann (James) Erlauer and Frank Jr. (Heather) Polczynski: five grandchildren Sophia, Ava, Brent, Lisa, Malikai: siblings Peter (Sue) Knipp and Cyril Jr. Lucy is further survived by many other close relatives and dear friends.
Lucy was a devoted wife, mother and nana. Her main love was her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was a dedicated nanny to many children. She was a long time member of St. Rita's Catholic Church in Racine. Lucy enjoyed volunteering through the church: visiting nursing homes, Christian Mothers, bingo chairman, and the homeless program. She was always thinking about others, letting them know, by sending loving cards and notes. She was more concerned about others, instead of herself, even when she was ill.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, February 5th, 2016 at 1:00 PM at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church (1375 Covered Bridge Road Cedarburg, WI 53012) with Father Tom Eichenberger presiding. A visitation will take place at the Church from 11:30 AM until the time of Mass at 1:00 PM. Lucy will be laid to rest during a private family burial at St. Francis Borgia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital (501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105). The Eernisse Funeral Home of Cedarburg is assisting the family. www.eernissefuneralhome.com
