Obituary

Lucille Meer, of Port Washington, formerly of Mequon, passed away into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the morning of Thursday, March 10, 2016 at Ellen's Home in Port Washington where she had been a resident. She was 90 years young. Lucille was born in Milwaukee on November 14, 1925, daughter of Fred Noeske and Marie Pier Noeske. On June 5, 1948 she married William Meer at St. Monica Catholic Church in Whitefish Bay. The couple moved to Mequon to raise their growing family. Lucille loved her children and grandchildren "a bushel and a peck" showering them with lots of hugs and kisses. She taught her family to enjoy the simple things in life, and to always look for the good in people. She gave unconditional love, council and encouragement. Lucille was a former member of St. James (Lumen Christi) Catholic Church in Mequon and also the Christian Women. She enjoyed watching baseball especially with her sons and was able to get to one last Brewers game last summer. After moving to Ellen's Home in Port Washington, Lucille helped lead a weekly Rosary service for residents. She is survived by her eight children: Chris Reichert of Milwaukee, Tom (the late Karen) Meer of Oconomowoc, Terri (Steve) Titus of St. Charles, IL, Mary (Mike) Jaedike of Port Washington, Rosie Meer of Madison, Jim Meer of Wilmar, MN, Larry (Jenny) Meer of Mequon, and Dan (Sandra) Meer of Albany, MN. She is further survived by 23 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, son-in-law Bob Schultz of West Bend, four siblings Walter and Jerry Noeske, both of Grafton, Jeanette (Paul) Bartsch of Port Washington and Carol (the late Larry) Heims of Green Bay, sister-in-law Mary Noeske of Thiensville, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, two daughters Kathy Meer and Josie Schultz, granddaughter Amie Titus, and five siblings Frederick Noeske,, Monica (the late Max) Van Wilpe, Dolores (the late Gil) Olson, Florence (the late Paul) Heinrichs and Mary Noeske. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 19th at 11:30 AM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., Port Washington. Father Patrick Wendt will preside. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, Mequon. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 19th at the Funeral Home from 9:30 am until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to Ellen's Home, Port Washington or Horizon Hospice. The Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington is honored to serve the family.
