Louis Lou Tackes Lou Tackes age 91 years of Belgium died Saturday November 3 2012 at Samaritan Home in West Bend. He was born August 17 1921 in Power Montana son of Joseph and Katherine Keller Tackes. Lou was a pilot in the US Army Air Corps during WW II. On June 22 1946 he married Elaine Croatt at St. Mary Church Lake Church. She preceded him in death in 2007. The couple settled in Belgium and raised their family there. Lou was manager of manufacturing at Modern Equipment Company in Port Washington retiring after many years. He was a member of St. Mary Church Lake Church Belgium American Legion and was a charter member of Belgium Lions Club. For many years he was active with Camp American Legion and Wisconsin Lions Camp. He was a former Village of Belgium Board member and enjoyed gardening woodworking and spending time with his family. Survivors include his six children Daniel (Margaret Ann) of Menomonee Falls Bruce (Linda) of Seymour TN Janet Pelkey of Elkridge MD Lee of Belgium William of Cedar Grove and Alan (Susan) of Granada Hills CA 5 grandchildren Emily JinHo Ryan Joshua Paul 10 great grandchildren 3 sisters Marcella Tackes and Helen Paulsen of Great Falls MT and Clara Perrier of Conrad MT 3 brothers Joseph (Shirley) of Power MT Jerome (Patricia) of Hilton Head NC and James (Rosemary) of Stevensville MT his sister in law Vernette Tackes of Port Washington nieces nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers Mike and Clarence. Funeral services will be held on Friday evening November 9 7 PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home 171 N. Royal Ave. Belgium. Burial with full military honors will be at St. Mary Cemetery Lake Church on Saturday. Visitation at the Funeral Home Friday from 4-7 PM.
