Mrs. Lorraine Lange of Fredonia passed away Thursday evening, August 24, 2023, at Lincoln Village in Port Washington where she had resided for the last 10 months. She was 87 years old.

Lorraine was born in Burlington, WI on April 18, 1936, daughter of Frank and Dorothy (nee Vohs) Bayer. She grew up on the family farm near Glenbeulah and attended local schools.

On July 9, 1955, Lorraine was united in marriage with Albert Lange at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dundee. The couple settled in Fredonia and raised their family of three children. Mrs. Lange worked at Allen Edmonds shoe factory as a stitcher, retiring after 25 years. Albert preceded Lorraine in death on August 11, 2006.

Mrs. Lange was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church in Fredonia. She enjoyed going to the Senior Center, finding good deals at rummage sales, walking in her neighborhood, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren and cats Butch & Kaito.

Those left to cherish her memory include her three children: Patricia (Lee) Krautkramer of Newburg, Lawrence (Robin) Lange of Fredonia, and Roger (Joanne) Lange of Campbellsport, eight grandchildren: Catrinia, Eric, Christine, Clarisse, Shawn, Hannah, Parker, and Brady, and great-grandson Jayden. She is further survived by sisters Joyce Lubner of Fredonia and Shirley Berndt of Port Washington, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Lorraine is preceded in death by her husband Albert, and brothers Ardell, Orville, and Jim (the late Barbara) Bayer.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3PM on Wednesday, August 30th, at St. John Lutheran Church, 824 Fredonia Ave., Fredonia. Pastor Marshal Frisque will preside. The family will receive visitors at the church on Wednesday from 1-3PM.
