Obituary

LORRAINE F. GOEHRING KESSEL Mrs. Lorraine Goehring Kessel formerly of Fredonia passed away Friday October 26th at Lasata Care Center in Cedarburg where she had been a resident for the past four years. She was 83 years old. Lorraine was born January 21 1924 in Milwaukee the daughter of Frederick and Ida Reinke Hartmann. On June 13 1942 she was united in marriage with Floyd Goehring at Zion Church in Batavia. He preceded her in death on May 9 1976. On May 14 1979 she married Arnold Kessel at Zion Church. Lorraine had worked as an assembler for West Bend Company in West Bend for 17 years retiring in 1985. She is a former member of Zion United Methodist Church in Batavia where she used to teach Sunday School. Lorraine was a former Hilltop 4H leader a life-long baseball enthusiast a former Foster Parent to many children and had enjoyed bowling cooking and gardening. Currently she liked playing card games solitaire and working crossword puzzles. She is survived by her husband Arnold of Madison daughter Bonnie (Dale) Egerer of Fredonia two sons: John Goehring of Fredonia and Kenneth (Jennifer) Bodner of Eden Prairie MN and 3 step-children: Linda (Guy) Bollfrass Harvey and James Kessel all of Madison. She is further survived by 12 grandchildren: Wayne (Darlene) Goehring Todd (Cindy) Goehring Wendy (Dan) Weiss Nicole Katie William Kristen and Michael Bodner Mindy (Doug) Miller Matthew Egerer Jodi (Joe) Schmitt and Jason Warner step-grandchildren numerous great-grandchildren brother Harold Hartmann of Fredonia and 3 sisters-in-law: Delphine Hartmann also of Fredonia Vynita Guenther of Batavia and Violet (Ralph) May of St. Germaine. Other survivors include nieces nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her first husband Floyd Goehring son Robert Goehring grandson Christopher Egerer brother Frederick Hartmann and sister Bernice Peterson. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday November 1 2PM at Zion United Methodist Church N1667 Hwy 28 in Batavia Pastor Gail Mitchell will officiate. Burial will follow at Silver Creek Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Thursday from 1-2PM.
