Obituary

LORRAINE C. SCHMITZ Mrs. Lorraine Schmitz formerly of LincolnVillage in Port Washington and also of Belgium passed away Sunday evening July 6 2008 at Harbor Club in Port Washington where she has been residing since January. She was 86 years old. Lorraine was born on September 25 1921 in Milwaukee daughter of Frank and Susan Weyker Porte. On September 14 1940 she was united in marriage with Edward Schmitz at St. Leorsquo;s Catholic Church in Milwaukee. Lorraine had worked as a beautician in Milwaukee before the couple settled in Belgium and raised their family. After Ed retired the couple wintered in Mesa AZ for 24 years. Ed and Lorraine left Belgium in 1990 and moved to Port Washington where they resided for the past 18 years. Ed preceded Lorraine in death inApril of 2007. Mrs. Schmitz was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saukville. She was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Lake Church where she was actively involved in the choir forover 40 years and had been a member of the Christian Mothers. Mrs. Schmitz was also a Cub Scout den mother while in Belgium and enjoyed traveling camping dancing and a good game of sheepshead. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed spending time with her family. Lorraine is survived by her five children: Wayne (Diane Fabini) Schmitz of New Berlin Karen Jean (George) Watry of Janesville Susan Schmitz-Kleckner of Port Washington Yvonne Schmitz of Cedarburg and Mary (Tom) Landgraf of Sheboygan. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren 27 great-grandchildren 2 sisters-in-law: Anna Kultgen of Cedarburg and Agnes (Don) Untiet of Wausau nieces nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband and 1 sister Bernice Sadowski.Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday July 9th 7PM at Immaculate Conception Catholic Churchin Saukville. Father Karl Acker will officiate. She will be entombed with her husband at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Wednesday from 4-7PM. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Foundation the American Heart Association or Seasons Hospice. The Eernisse Funeral Home in Port Washington is assisting he family with arrangements.
