Mrs. Lorna Clapham of Saukville passed away at Aurora Medical Center in Grafton on Sunday, September 29, 2024. She was 89 years old.
Lorna was born in Port Washington on March 1, 1935, to Stanley and Lucille (nee Paulin) Matthews. She grew up in Grafton and attended local schools before graduating from Grafton High School.
On November 5, 1955, Lorna was united in marriage with John J. Clapham at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Grafton. The couple settled in Grafton and raised their family of three children, later moving to Saukville in 1990. John preceded Lorna in death in 2016.
Lorna was an avid reader, an extraordinary homemaker, and a true caretaker for everyone she encountered. She especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren and spending quality time with her lifelong friends.
Mrs. Clapham was a member of St. John XXIII Parish, worshipping at the Immaculate Conception Church, and was a former member of St. Joseph Parish in Grafton.
Lorna is survived by her daughters Ellen (Larry) Kniess and Carol (Jeff) Folz, daughter-in-law Martha (the late Daniel) Clapham, 5 grandchildren: Jack and Margaret Clapham, Jenna and Alex (Christine) Folz, and Gary (Kayla) Kniess, as well as great-grandchildren JJ, Waylon, and Maisie. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Lorna is preceded in death by her husband John, their son Daniel, and grandson Jordan Folz.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at St. John the XXIII Parish- Immaculate Conception Church (145 W Church St. Saukville) at 3:00PM with Father Pat Wendt presiding. Visitation will be held from1PM until Mass begins at 3PM. Lorna will be laid to rest beside her husband at St. Joseph Cemetery in Grafton.
