After a long battle the Lord called Loraine Selma Dettmann home on March 9 2005. She was 89 years old. Loraine was born on May 9 1915 in Random Lake daughter of Dr. William and Selma Capelle Dettmann. Loraine was a graduate of Milwaukee State Teachers College. She taught in the Appleton school system at the start of her career. She worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Milwaukee for the next twenty-four years. Loraine then worked for Badger Tag and Label and concluded her career at the Random Lake Co-op. She is survived by one sister-in-law Dorothy Schuch of Fond du Lac; a nephew Dan Dettmann of Green Bay; two nieces Jane (Tom) Henderson of Sun Prairie and Mary Beth (Roy) Swenson of Marshall. Also great nephews Dan (Tracy) Henderson of Sun Prairie (sons Zach and Jake) and Paul Swenson of Columbus; great niece Amy (Blake) Edwards of Phillips (daughter Morgan and son Austin). Loraine was loved by all of us. Loraine was preceded in death by her parents Dr. William and Selma Capelle Dettmann and her beloved brother Dr. Ralph Dettmann. The surviving family would like to thank the staff at Gables on The Pond Random Lake and Heartland Hospice for her care. A special thanks to Ken Borchardt and Rev. Marilyn Borchardt for their kindness and helpfulness over a period of years. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday March 12 at 2PM at St. John's United Church of Christ 98 Random Lake Rd in Random Lake. Rev. Earl Kruse will officiate. Interment will take place in the Boltonville Cemetery on the family lot. The family will receive visitors at the CHURCH on Saturday from 12:30 PM until the time of services at 2PM.
