Mrs. Lois M. Weiss of Random Lake passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Cedar Grove Gardens in Cedar Grove, where she had resided since May. She was 82 years old.
Lois was born October 31, 1935 in Tracy, MN, the daughter of Dr. Leon J. and Clara Karbo Noy. She grew up in Tracy, MN and Lake Andes, SD, before attending Redfield High School in Redfield, SD. While there, she played saxophone in the band and orchestra and excelled in art. She graduated Class of 1953,
On June 5, 1953 Lois was united in marriage with Delbert Weiss in Redfield. In 1956, the family moved to Wisconsin. In 1960 they moved to Waubeka, and later settled in Random Lake in 1969. In the early days, she helped Delbert with his business, DCW Realty & Appraisals, in Fredonia.
Lois loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, crocheting thousands of afghans, working on puzzles and going on regular trips to the library (she frequently read up to 10 books in a week, and had read through the library in Sheboygan twice). She also enjoyed traveling with her family and was passionate about watching hockey, mainly the Minnesota Wild, but would gladly watch other teams as well.
Lois is survived by her children: Mona Welle of Green Bay, Barb (Mike) Sitzberger of West Bend, Teresa (Bob) Rivers of Green Bay and Rich (Lisa) Weiss of Fredonia. She is further survived by 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, brother Leon (the late Karen) Noy of Torrence, CA nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is further survived by her loving canine companion, Molly.
Mrs. Weiss is preceded in death by her husband Delbert, son-in-law Michael Welle, sister Leora Williams, and nephew Scott Dries.
At Lois's request, no services will be held.
