Lois Ward, of Port Washington, passed away surrounded by her loving family in the morning hours of Friday, March 02, 2018 at her residence. She was 91 years old. Lois was born in Sault St. Marie, MI, daughter of Andrew Portice and Maggie Mae McComb Portice. She attended L'anse High School in L'anse, MI. After graduating, she moved to Milwaukee to attend business school. It was in Milwaukee where she met Frank Ward. The couple were married on September 16, 1950. In the 1963 the couple moved to Port Washington. Lois worked at FMC Bolen's Corp. as an executive secretary, retiring in the early 2000's. She was a member of First Congregational Church in Port Washington, the Port Washington Senior Center where she was active in "Chicks with Sticks". Lois enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and playing Bridge. She is survived by her son Kevin (Lynda) Ward of Port Washington, her granddaughter Dana (Keith) Pegelow of Grafton, and four great-grandsons: Brandon, Noah, Cayden and Bennett. She is further survived by her brother George (Jan) Portice of Twining, MI, her sister-in-law Beverly Portice of Chesterfield Township, MI, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank, daughter Gail, brother John Portice and sister Donna (the late Phil) Scarpace. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 13th at 6:00 PM At First Congregational Church 131 N. Webster St. Port Washington. Rev. Jeffrey Suddendorf will preside over the service. Lois will be laid to rest next to her husband in Holden East Cemetery, Port Washington. Visitation will take place at the CHURCH on Tuesday, March 13th from 4-6 PM.
