Mrs. Lois Groff of Port Washington passed away at Lincoln Village early Wednesday morning, January 13, 2021. She was 87 years old. Lois was born July 23, 1933, daughter of Arthur and Olive Dimmer Remich. She grew up in Belgium and attended local schools. On August 7, 1954, Lois was united in marriage with Avery Groff at St. Mary Catholic Church in Lake Church. The couple settled in Port Washington and raised their family. He preceded her in death in 2005. Mrs. Groff worked as a cashier at Sentry Foods in Port Washington. She was the head cashier for many years and retired after 25 years on the job. Lois was a member of St. John XXIII Parish in Port Washington. She enjoyed traveling with her husband, arts and crafts, knitting, crocheting, bicycling and baking. Lois loved her grandchildren and spending time with them was always the highlight of her day. Lois is survived by her four children: Denise (Duane) Helms of Port Washington, Mark (Mark Latham) Groff of Henderson, NV, Bruce (Kim) Groff of New Berlin, and Karen Schueller of Grafton, three grandchildren: Mike (Anna) Helms, Brittany (fiancé Tyler Zimmer) Schueller and Brooke (fiancé Tristan Schnabel) Schueller and great-grandchildren Micah and Donovan Helms. She is further survived by sister Darlene Wester of Port Washington, sister-in-law Pat Neitz, also of Port Washington, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Avery, brothers-in-law Daniel Wester and Ted Neitz, and sister-in-law Yvonne (the late Gerry) Theisen. Private family services will be held.
