Obituary

On Saturday morning February 7 2009 Linda passed away peacefully at her home in Belgium WI surrounded by her family and friends.nbsp; Linda was born on December 11 1946 and grew up in Fairfax VA.nbsp; She was the middle child of George and Hilda (Foster) Burrier.nbsp; In 1965 she married Michael Robbins from Antigo WI.nbsp; nbsp; The young couple moved from Virginia to Wisconsin in 1966 so that Mike could return for his college education.nbsp; For almost 20 years Linda supported the family while Mike was a student pursuing his Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.nbsp; She worked as a waitress parking attendant administrative assistant for the U.W. Physical Plant office manager for the Medical Physics Department at the U.W. and business manager for a small manufacturing company Radiation Measurements Inc.nbsp; During this time Linda and Mike welcomed the arrival of their daughter Michele and son Sean into their lives.nbsp; Together with their family they began a consulting business in 1983 and in 1990 moved to Englewood Colorado when Mike accepted a teaching position at the University of Denver.nbsp; They returned to Wisconsin in 2000 and moved to their Lake Michigan home in Belgium.nbsp; For a brief time Linda and her daughter operated Dinner Helpers in downtown Port Washington. nbsp; Linda was passionate about so many things ndash; her family quilting gardening antiques her Wine Club friends and most definitely ndash; her grandsons.nbsp; ldquo;Doerdquo; as her grandsons called her had a unique relationship with each of her ldquo;Little Menrdquo; and was completely devoted to them.nbsp; She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life ndash; a walk on the beach dinner with her family and roasting marshmallows over a campfire.nbsp; Linda touched the lives of many people with her smile and laughter.nbsp; Her creative energy and ldquo;can dordquo; spirit will be deeply missed.nbsp; She found comfort in her faith and was not afraid to leave this world only sorry that our time together was cut short.nbsp; She said that she couldnrsquo;t imagine what heaven would be like because she felt that she had truly experienced ldquo;heaven on earthrdquo;. nbsp; Lindarsquo;s immediate family includes her husband Michael Robbins of Belgium WI; her son Sean Robbins and his wife Kristy of Stoughton WI; her daughter Michele Norman and her husband John of Port Washington WI; and four grandsons Rowan Norman Eagan Norman Calhan Norman and Emory Robbins.nbsp; She is also survived by her sister Dale Mill of Indialantic FL and her brother Larry Burrier of Falls Church VA. nbsp; Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service to celebrate Lindarsquo;s life on Saturday February 21 2009 at 2:00 pm at First Congregational Church 131 N. Webster Street in Port Washington WI 53074 phone 262-284-2022.nbsp; The family will welcome visitors to the church beginning at 1:00 pm.nbsp;nbsp; nbsp; It was Lindarsquo;s wish that contributions be made to the Memorial Garden of First Congregational Church.nbsp; The garden will be open and available to all residents and friends of Port Washington.nbsp; This garden is in the early stages of development and the family would like to encourage donations to this project.nbsp; If you would like to make a contribution please make checks payable to ldquo;First Congregational Churchrdquo; with a memo indicating ldquo;Robbins memorialrdquo;. nbsp;br /Service:br /pA Memorial Service will be held at First Congregational Church Port Washington on Saturday February 21st at 2PM/pbr /Cemetery:br /pnbsp;/p
