Mrs. Linda Anderson of Port Washington, formerly of Sun Prairie and Madison, passed away at her home January 19, 2023. She was 70 years old.
Linda was born in Stevens Point on February 29, 1952, daughter of Frank and Joy (nee Schleis) Kuemmel. The family moved to Sun Prairie when Linda was young where she attended Sacred Hearts grade school. Linda graduated from Sun Prairie High School, Class of 1970.
Linda was united in marriage with Larry Schoenemann on May 6, 1972. The couple settled in Madison and were blessed with two children. They divorced in 1982.
Linda began her working career at age 15 as a lifeguard and swim instructor through the high school. She began her Engineering career at Madison Kipp in 1984 and worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer at Allen Bradley/Rockwell, Kohler, Master Lock and also worked as a contractor for several other Milwaukee area manufacturing businesses.
Linda started dating Neil Anderson, who would be the love of her life, in 1983. Together, they moved to Port Washington with their kids where they were blocks away from Lake Michigan and eventually married on January 14,1999.
Linda and Neil were inseparable and often traveled around the country, especially after they both retired. She had a talent for photography and began her own business, Anderson Photo Works. Linda was a Tall Ship enthusiast and loved taking pictures of the boats to showcase their beauty. She frequently had booths at the Maritime festivals throughout the Great Lakes to display her work. She and Neil loved to travel around the Great Lakes to the different festivals to sell their work, take more pictures, or just enjoy their time together getting to know others.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children Christopher (Carolyn Paul) Schoenemann of Oak Creek, Nicole (Luke) Wagner of Waukesha and grandchildren Hannah, Eli and Jonah Wagner. She is further survived by her step-children Darcy (Mike) Anderson Pazen of Cambridge, WI and Marnie (Larry) Trainor of Clearwater, FL, step-grandchildren Julia, Brooke, Corinne, Lindsey, Carli and Matthew, numerous step-great-grandchildren, sisters Marilyn (Vernon) Yelk, Joan McCarthy, and Karen Kuemmel, brother-in-law Dale Anderson, other family and friends. Linda is preceded in death by her parents Frank & Joy Kuemmel, husband Neil Anderson, and her beloved fur babies, Tasha, Doc, Bobo, Mattie, Sunshine, Bessie and Maya.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Friday, February 3rd, 2023 at Sacred Hearts of Jesus & Mary Church, 221 Columbus St., Sun Prairie, WI. Father Thomas Kelley will preside. Linda will be laid to rest beside her family in Sacred Hearts Parish Cemetery following the service. The family will receive visitors at the church on Friday from 9:30AM until services begin at 11AM.
